Re-visiting Monterey Bay

On our way back home from L.A. we thought we'd take a couple of days to relax in Monterey Bay.  We took "highway" California 1 that wraps itself around the ocean (it's the scenic route) up to Monterey.  Once in Monterey we stayed at a hotel that was literally right on the water.  I won't bore you with the some nine hundred photos that were taken over that two day stay.  But you are invited to enjoy a handful of them with us.

Here are a few pictures of our drive up the coast on CA1.  It was a beautiful drive next to the ocean almost the whole way.

Above was the rooftop jacuzzi at our hotel.  Who wouldn't want to take a secluded dip while watching the sun set and the stars come out over head?  To the right is the city of Monterey as seen from our hotel balcony.

This was the view that we woke up to in the morning.  The steward (to your left) showed up and claimed he was going to serve us breakfast, but something seemed fishy.

Here are some views that we have enjoyed exploring around the coast.

We found this at one of the beaches.  Apparently they had an extra bench and didn't know what to do with it.  More taxpayers money going to "good use."

Someone has a fascination with Starfish...

Little Sea Lions.

There's a little buoy in the water!  Somebody call for help!

This is Point Pinos.  Unfortunately it was closed for remodeling the day that we had stopped by.
