Monterey Bay

One day we woke up very early and took the three hour trek out to Monterey and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  The first few exhibits that caught our attention were the jellyfish.  It is amazing that these creatures are virtually see-through and don't seem like much at all and yet they are a living and breathing animal.  It is amazing to watch them swim around.  We are so amazed at God's creativity!

These two pictures are for the same jellyfish.  It is a completely see-through type which makes it virtually invisible.  Only when hit with a light does it show any type of color.

Our favorite aquarium pet would have to be the sea horse!  They are so beautiful and lively.  What a treat it was to watch them swim.

This is another type of Sea Horse called the Leafy Sea Dragon.  They look so much like plants yet they swim around.

They had two different areas of open tanks where you could touch and pick up sea creatures.  Here Tracy is examining a Star Fish.

"Cannery Row" is a long row of shops and eateries that hug the coast of Monterey Bay.  The Monterey Bay Aquarium sits amidst them.

It's always more romantic with Dippin' Dots!

This was one of the biggest Lobsters we've ever seen!

We finished this trip off properly, with two Sundaes from the local Ghirardelli ice cream shoppe!
